The 9th International Symposium on Environmental Geotechnology and Global Sustainable Development will be hosted and organized by Prof. Albert T. Yeung of The University of Hong Kong and Prof. Irene M. C. Lo of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with support from the International Society for Environmental Geotechnology (ISEG). This biennial symposium will also be associated with the International Conference on Waste Engineering and Management to be held on May 28-30, 2008, which will be organized by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering. The Conference will invite a number of distinguished guest speakers, researchers, policy-makers and design engineers from academia, industry and government agencies to participate in the 9th International Symposium on Environmental Geotechnology and Global Sustainable Development. Keynote speaker will be Prof. Robert Gillham of the University of Waterloo.

Submission of Abstracts
The 500-word abstract must clearly present the background, objectives, methodology and results on a sound basis (innovative case studies, research data, practical experience, investigations, etc.). The full title of the paper, names, affiliations, e-mail address and full mailing address of all the authors must be included in the abstract. Please submit the abstract by email to yeungat@hku.hk.
The official language of the Symposium will be English. All papers must be written and presented in English. Authors will be expected to attend the conference and present their papers themselves.
